Job Nature

Sales Planner is responsible for all forecasting activities associated with customers and products. Creates and maintains forecast models for sales, incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from sales, marketing, finance and other sources. Sales Planner is the integration point into the sales and operations units. Basic forecast modeling is the main responsibility of this position. This position aids in establishing the dialogue each month for their products with key counterparts in Sales and Marketing as well as communicates forecast to the Supply Planning team. Coordinates and expedites the flow of work within or between departments according to daily and weekly sales schedules.

Essential Functions

Monitor sales versus forecast for all products within client’s portfolio. Manage forecast, sales team and supply planning to ensure right product at the right time. Develops tools to help the communication of monthly variances to both sales and marketing and supply planning team. Ensure any extraordinary activity is reflected in the forecast and communicated to supply planning team. Challenge over/under sales patterns and implement forecast changes. Participate in key meetings with sales and marketing and other logistics support functions. Develop reports to monitor performance metrics (Forecast Accuracy, Sales Projections etc.) as defined by Director. Research and gathering date to develop well-informed strategic plans for clients. Produce cohesive and intelligent plans to bring success to campaigns. Generate original ideas with other members of the team. Identify potential problems and devises ways to rectify them. Continuously improve the sales forecasting processes and systems, ensuring that forecast accuracy is consistently improving. Work with other departments including Operations, New Product Development and Supply Chain to ensure the consistent, cost-effective supply of products to customers. Work with the New Product Development team to forecast sales of new products. Develop Standard Operating Procedures for the sales forecasting processes.

Ability in conflict resolution. Create and maintain amicable interpersonal relationships with fellow workers, supervisors, and clients.
